Crisis at Red Hill

HONOLULU— The US Navy tanks at the Red Hill Fuel Storage Facility hold over 180 million gallons of fuel a day underground since WW2 to power the Pacific Fleet. Since November citizens have protested in favor of removal of those tanks which have contaminated the drinking water.

The tanks sit 100 feet above Honolulu’s Primary Aquifer.

Populace Extremism

January 7th (Washington DC) Updated March 2021

Public Report recorded a confession of responsibility on January 7th from a man professing to have coordinated an attack on the mainstream media pen.

The man from California identified as anti-Communist and “an extremist” in his own words. He espoused National Socialist sympathies & said he studied hundreds of hours of footage of Leftist black bloc riot tactics.

How fringe was he to the rest of the crowd? Or to the fringe itself?

This table below includes the names, charges, and links to court documents of all the people charged so far in the Capitol riot. Search table published by Insider.

Only 23 charged rioters have entered guilty pleas so far.

“We are gonna use their tactics in a Sun Tzu fashion that work…”

Update:

Chicago Project on Security & Threats study author, Keven Ruby, informed Public Report only 1 person among the arrested showed an ethno-gang affiliation.

Ruby Wrote: “The gang in question is the Latin Kings, not a white nationalist gang. We found no evidence of specifically white nationalist gangs (skinheads, Hammerskins, Aryan brotherhood etc.) among the arrested.”

Note:
The study revision in mid February include 1 individual listed as “Aryan Nations.”

A breakdown published in The Atlantic, The Capitol Rioters Aren’t Like Other Extremists, notes that of the initial 200 arrests only 1 in 10 belonged to a militia or group affiliation such as Oath Keepers, Proud Boys or Three Percenters:

Chicago Project:
Update 7/2/21:

Oath Keepers: 13

Three percenters: 7

On the Brink

January 6th (Washington DC)

Who knew. I left my gas mask in my rental car as I arrived late at the Capitol in the 2pm hour. There were rumors of a breech.

I also forgot my regular COVID face mask so put on a brand new stars & stripes handkerchief.

The atmosphere was of an arena size music festival of 10s of thousands. Burrowing ahead through the crowd, you could see commotion ahead 2-3 football fields away on the terrace. Pepper spray & plumes of gas flourished.

The festive atmosphere was belied by an unknown amount of violence out of sight ahead.

THE CAPITOL: Who Was There
(VIDEO - interviews from the field)

The atmosphere was made up of a populist, Patriot crowd chanting USA, We the People, and Whose House, Our House.

Yet, I feared the same destabilizing tactics I had followed over the course of 7 months were being applied by MAGA banner insurrectionists & even possible fringe anarcho agitators rioting above.

  1. Police reform

  2. Prison reform

  3. End the war on drugs

  4. End the 2 party duopoly

  5. Combat sex trafficking

  6. Act to address the housing crisis

  7. Get big money out of politics

The Streets of DC

December 13th (Washington DC)

After the Trump MAGA rally at Freedom Plaza 12/12, the 2nd of its kind in a month, mobs clashed & attacked each other from both sides of the political spectrum across 1-2 square miles after 5:30pm. At 6:15pm MPD faced off with the black bloc swarming the Hyatt Place where Trump supporting guests stood outside (video 1). They then moved on the Hilton, where after an isolated scuffle, Trump supporters sang Christmas carols and patriotic songs while MPD held the line.

At 7pm a Proud Boys / MAGA group then marched on BLM plaza via a western alleyway (video 2) and was immediately routed. By the end of the night, one police line faced the black bloc while another halted a Proud Boys led crowd from marching again on BLM plaza.

The 11pm march was in response to a stabbing near MAGA & Proud Boys hang out spot Harry’s bar roughly 2 hours earlier. 4 people had been stabbed after a Proud Boys crowd encircled a man with a knife.
33 people were arrested over the course of the night.

Antifa aligned black bloc went to the Hyatt and Hilton hotels at 6:15pm to confront Trump supporters after sundown. At the Hyatt, a fireworks explosive was thrown into the crowd from a supporter of the right, sparking chaos.

MPD struggles to keep the groups separated in DC at 7pm as a Proud Boys led MAGA contingent made a surprise appearance near BLM Plaza through an alleyway to the west. Numerous attacks from both sides were well documented (LINK) & spread out across town.

After the MAGA crowd surprised the black bloc by appearing through an alleyway at 7pm west of BLM plaza, a young man on a megaphone points out a lone, random patriot type vulnerable for attacking.

MPD keeps the Proud Boys march at bay by the Hilton hotel at 11pm. At BLM plaza, black bloc practitioners clash with police as Proud Boys heckle from afar. Proud Boys had torn down a BLM sign on the way from a church and in a separate incident burned one.

Who Struck First?

Once night fell, black bloc radicals convened in McPherson Square park and were opposed by Proud Boys by 5:30-6pm.

Two large masses of BLM aligned demonstrators held separate marches . Meanwhile, smaller bands of Proud Boys roamed the streets also in search of conflict.

It was the black bloc charging towards the Hyatt at 6:15 that kicked the already volatile night into high gear. The hotel had been the scene of conflict the night before between social justice activists & a MAGA group from upstate NY.

The black bloc swarmed with MPD impeding their way. Then BOOM. The firework was thrown from the MAGA side.

In addressing the larger question of which side attacked first in DC, one would have to go back to January of 2017 in Washington DC (VIDEO).

What Went Down

(Los Angeles)

In support of BLM I attended protests the weekend of May 30th & 31st. After witnessing widespread coordinated riot actions in the streets of LA, I followed up on every lead nationwide for months.

I expected to find supremacists agitating the protests. Instead, I found a culture of virally networked black bloc tactics & revolutionary politics, mentored by an older generation.

As I told the NY Times, I pursued the project as long as I did in search of transparency in insurrection & the public’s right to the messy truth.

Investigating the Hard Right

October 31st

To the Critics:

I reported from Portland, Seattle, Denver, Washington DC, Rochester NY & several cities in California in black bloc. I was not bloc’d up in Louisville, Atlanta or Tulsa.

It was in Tulsa I first tailed the Proud Boys & months later sought to interview their Chairman for the podcast as I did Rose City Antifa.

My public efforts in speaking to both sides, were on the topic of Peace in the week preceding the Sept. 26th Portland Proud Boys rally; And if the 2 groups might hold separate events.

I was undercover at both rallies in distinct costumes that day amidst the Portland state of emergency.

What About…

Men with guns: In Tulsa, Louisville and Portland I made an effort to question them. As a pacifist not raised around firearms, it was new territory.

I never found anyone in my experience that was operating outside the interest of 2nd Amendment constitutional advocacy. The young man on the far right took his Hawaiian shirt off an hour later because he didn’t get why people were calling him a racist.

Note: This does not mean supremacists with guns aren’t an issue. We simply found no evidence of them commandeering riot actions in cities I observed between May 26th - October 27th.

Our first report was quick to mention Steven Carillo, the self identifying “Boogaloo” shooter who killed two officers in an anti-government action during the Oakland protests.

Return to Ferguson

We all have blinders. I never understood the story of Michael Brown. I didn’t get how the saga of uprising started here and not in NYC where I was covering Eric Garner’s death by illegal NYPD chokehold.

I walk around Ferguson, St. Louis. There are no memorials. Yet this is where Insurrectionary Anarchists tout their involvement in 2014 with new tactics & alliances born in uprising.

Like in so many inner city communities, none of the businesses are Black owned; not even the Black beauty supply store.

We need radical solutions to combat Insurrection with opportunity.

Reparative subsidized downpayment programs paving the way to first time home ownership is key: A new GI bill, financial literacy starting in middle school…

A Cornered Cat

September 23rd. - Shots fired in Louisville. At 830pm the march was surrounded on all sides. Many were open carrying. A YouTube Live streamer, after the ensuing shooting at police officers, referenced the saying that a cornered cat is most dangerous.

In our experience in Louisville, Community was strong and gravitating towards non violent protest. Earlier in the afternoon we saw individual protesters shutting down agitators trying to use fireworks. But the arrival of a U-Haul with Anarcho - Antifascist symboled shields changed everything.

Louisville MPD then made the same error so many other US cities have: Instead of letting the crowd march unimpeded, PD confronted the shield line. Seen on FB Livestream, the Black bloc AND protesters alike were wrestled to the concrete by cops in a “kettling” maneuver. The mood shifted yet again.

The crowd is cornered. Earlier in the day, a U-Haul of shields shifted the mood, preparing marchers for conflict with PD.

Portland Deadly Shooting Evidence

August 30, 2020

A leader of Patriot Prayer has called the victim a “supporter” of the group.

The apparent exchange of mace & gunfire took place at the end of a Trump caravan rally & several street feuds.

The shooter or his black bloc companion appear to say “We got one.” The skateboarder exits separately from the two suspects who quickly flee to screen right. The skateboarder is a possible witness as he does not wear a mask & comes back for his skateboard.

Update: Suspect Michael Reinoehl was shot & killed by federal officers on Sept. 3rd. In instagram posts he identified as “100% Antifa.” He had never posted political content before May 30th 2020 to his account.

The NY Times reports the 2nd phrase to be “We got a couple right here.” The shooting took place at around 8:45pm. The Trump caravan was scheduled 4-9pm.

Opinion: Are Anarchists for Real…

Or just a sideshow barometer for social breakage?

September 15, 2020

Establishment media still continues to overlook trending black bloc tactics especially in DC, Minneapolis, Portland & Seattle with satellite activity in Denver, Sacramento and the SF Bay.

AdBusters - Blackspot, the Vancouver collective that organized Occupy Wall Street, announced over the summer big plans for a DC Occupation in the form of a siege on the White House. But are they even the insurrectionists of influence?

Aligned groups & Northwest elements of Insurrectionary Anarchism have yet to join in with the call to action. Do “Insurrectos” (as they are called in the scene) have the cohesion and apparatus outside of BLM for anything other than agitation from within?

NOTE: We’ve been undercover marching with self described leftist Insurrectionists & Revolutionaries in DC, Seattle, Portland & beyond.

So yes. They’re real - but localized in unique scenes without a major event to capitalize on. Insurrectionary Anarchist ideology, tactics & rhetoric, however, networked online through contemporary ‘antifa’ aligned groups, have permeated into the social justice movement with blazing efficiency.

The question is if the genie is now out of the bottle.

Will other fringe or populist groups appropriate the techniques down the line ?
